The List Family Murders – Ep. 15

It was early winter, 1971, in a city called Westfield, New Jersey.

John List had spent a month contemplating how he would solve all of the problems in his life. His financial problems, the problems of an over-bearing mother, an alcoholic wife, and children that he saw as an inconvenience in the free life that he wanted.

On November 9th, 1971, John List would kill his Mother, his Wife and all 3 of his children, in their Westfield Mansion. He would use his religion as an excuse for this crime, but it was much more.

He would be able to evade capture for 18 years.

Why did John List kill his entire family? How did he manage to escape for all of these years? How was he found over 2,000 miles away from the home, 18 years later.
